    Former Kangaroos and New South Wales lock Trent Merrin has played his last NRL game

    He's announced a snap retirement from rugby league.

    Merrin shared the news with his Dragons teammates today, pulling the curtain closed on a 13-year career across Australia and England.

    Merrin says he's happy to finish his career on his own terms.

    He says he's outgrown the game, and the game has outgrown him.
