Central Otago's Mayor is urging the dunk hunters that hit two women with shotgun pellets to come forward

Police are seeking the group of men, who were hunting from a boat on the Clutha River on Sunday.

It says the pair were struck while walking a nearby track.

Mayor Tim Cadogan , says it was reckless of the hunters.

He says it was likely an accident - but it's tarred all duck hunters with the same brush.
