Alan Carr has revealed that his close friend Adele suggested that he should stay in a strange hotel rather than her Los Angeles mansion

The 44-year-old comedian had wanted to stay at the 'Hello' hitmaker's luxury pad during a visit to the US and was baffled when she suggested he should check in to the eccentric Petit Ermitage hotel in West Hollywood

Speaking to actress Olivia Cooke on his 'Life's a Beach' podcast, Alan

recalled: "I was hoping to stay at Adele's house, but she went ,'Why don't you stay at this hotel?'

"And I looked at the website and it looked weird.

"There was a massive Jack of clubs, there was a chess piece. It was like, 'This feels a bit odd.' But I know it's amazing."

Olivia said of the awkward situation: "Your like, 'Come on babe, you've got enough rooms'."

Alan and Adele have been close pals for a number of years and he previously revealed that she got ordained to officiate at the 'Chatty Man' host's wedding to Paul Drayton in 2018 while organising a number of other special arrangements for Alan's big day.

He said: "We got married in Adele's back garden in Los Angeles. She's known me and Paul for ages and she said she wants to do everything, so she did everything. She got ordained and married us and then she did the whole day. She is the kindest, sweetest, most loveliest person I've ever met. She flew us to Vegas to see Celine Dion sing, she sang our first dance. It was the best day of my life. She's the most generous, I can't thank her enough. It was lovely and I just want to tell everyone.

Flowers, three-course meal and she just planned it all and it was the best day."
