Countdown is concerned about assaults in stores

Countdown is concerned about assaults in stores

A 42-year-old man's been charged with four counts of attempted murder in a Dunedin Countdown.

Four people have had surgery today for stab wounds, and the man's been remanded in custody until his next appearance in June.

Countdown employee Michelle McKenzie has echoed the chain's concerns.

She says for more than a year, there's been daily abuse in stores.

McKenzie says the scariest part is people being abusive over little things ... such as a man who yelled at her because he didn't think she processed his Lotto ticket fast enough.
