High income countries with a Covid-19 vaccine pipeline are being urged to provide a billion doses to low and middle income countries by September

High income countries with a Covid-19 vaccine pipeline are being urged to provide a billion doses to low and middle income countries by September

An independent WHO report on the global response to the coronavirus has been released, co-chaired by former Prime Minister Helen Clark.

It says more than two billion doses should be provided by mid-2022, through COVAX and other mechanisms.

The report says G7 countries should put 11 billion dollars towards vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics.

G20 countries in the European Union, should stump up another eight billion.
