Criticism of the government's use of My Food Bag for beneficiaries and food banks

Criticism of the government's use of My Food Bag for beneficiaries and food banks

The Government started using the meal kit home delivery service for emergency food kits in October 2019, in a trial that ended last May.

Ministry of Social Development figures show the Government spent just over 300 thousand dollars on the scheme.

The Green Party say the idea was just patching around the edges.

It wants a substantive increase to core benefit levels.
