    Security guards have wrestled a knife-wielding man to the ground outside Auckland's Sylvia Park mall


    Police were called to the incident just after 5pm, after reports of a shoplifter being confronted by security and threatening them with a knife.

    Police say the guards wrestled the knife from the shoplifter and recovered the stolen goods.

    The offender escaped on foot. No one was injured.
