1 June 2021
He is facing four charges of attempted murder -- and his identity remains secret for now.
It's alleged the man attacked two staff members and a couple at a Countdown supermarket in early May.
They've since been discharged from hospital -- and security staff are now stationed in the store.
The Otago Daily Times reports the defendant will keep name suppression while a psychiatric report's completed.
He'll reappear in court later this month.
