It's not good news for the South Island economy with freight continuing to be affected by the recent floods

The Ashburton bridge is closed until further notice, along with state highway one in Temuka and state highway 73 from Springfield to Castle Hill.
Infometrics economist Brad Olsen says at the moment its taking 13 hours to transport supplies from Christchurch to Timaru.
He says this is going to have a big impact on the already existing supply chain issues.
