Mount Hutt is clearing ice off its ski runs, after a bumper snow haul from Canterbury's downpour

Up to five metres of snow fell on the summit and the rest of the mountain now has a one metre base.
Manager James McKenzie says some of the lift machinery struggled with the ice.
He says the tail end of the storm came in damp and icy - with more than half a metre of ice thick on some structures.
This isn't expected to affect their plans to open on June 11.
