Originally scheduled to travel through Covid-hit Melbourne, the squad will stay overnight in Sydney tonight and head to Canberra tomorrow.
Coach Jason Holland says the players fly direct to Sydney this afternoon, but due to a shortage of seats, management needs to fly separately via Auckland.
The 'Canes will name their team to face the Brumbies at 2 this afternoon.
