    Two people are in a serious condition in hospital after serious crashes in Auckland and Canterbury last night


    Emergency services were called to one crash -- involving a car and pedestrian on Reeves Road in Pakuranga -- just before 5.45 last night.

    Minutes later, police were called to a serious collision on the Christchurch Southern Motorway near Rolleston.
