Zooey Deschanel feels "really lucky" to be dating Jonathan Scott

The 'New Girl' actress found love with the 'Property Brothers' star almost two years ago and she hopes she's as "nice" to him as he is to her

She gushed: “I just think Jonathan is just the nicest person in the world. So, I’m just really lucky. I just try to be as nice back as, you know, he is. And it works.”

The 41-year-old star is the new co-host of 'The Celebrity Dating Game' and though it isn't the sort of thing she'd do in a bid to find love, she appreciates the fact that "everybody is doing it".

She added to Us Weekly magazine: "“I have the best boyfriend in the world, so I don’t even think about doing something like that. [I don't even] remember any dates before Jonathan!”

Zooey - who has Elise Otter, five, and Charlie Wolf, three, her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik - recently explained she bonded with Jonathan over their shared views for saving the environment.

She said: "It's really inspiring how passionate he is about green energy and solar power. He's always working to try to figure out solutions for those problems, and really wants to support people who are being innovative on those levels.

“I remember actually when we first met, he sent me his documentary and I was like, wow, we are so aligned on this level. Because we both really care about this one issue, but have different areas that we focus on."

Zooey also said her concerns for the environment come from her position as a parent.

She added: "I'm a mom, so I'm always concerned about what we are eating and using. So it's great, because between the two of us we have ended up focusing on two big things that affect our environment."
