The founder of New Zealand's first online high school says selecting school times will always be a fine balancing act

The founder of New Zealand's first online high school says selecting school times will always be a fine balancing act

New South Wales is trialling staggered start and finish times in primary schools, to create more flexibility for families and reduce school rush hour traffic.

Our Government's being urged to consider a similar trial in New Zealand.

But Crimson Education co-founder Jamie Beaton says several factors have to be considered, before school hours are changed.

He says flexibility in the schooling model can create challenges for staff, and some students really need structure in their school week.
