James Corden has lost "just over 35lbs" - but he still hates going to the gym

The 42-year-old TV star has revealed he's made a concerted effort to lose a bit of weight over recent months, even though doesn't enjoy working out

Asked how he's currently feeling on 'The Howard Stern Show', James

replied: "I feel like I'm getting better. I'm trying, but I feel like there's still a way to go ... I've lost just over 35lbs."

James - who has hosted 'The Late Late Show' since 2015 - subsequently admitted he struggles to motivate himself to go to the gym, although he's really tried to change his ways.

The actor - who has Max, 10, Carey, six, and Charlotte, three, with his wife Julia - shared: "I'm trying to, but I suck at it. I'm so bad at it.

"It's terrible. There are so few hours in the day that are just my own, do you know what I mean?

"I've got three young kids. We have the show and all these things. I feel like, 'Hang on a minute. I've got an hour here where I'm on my own, and I'm doing something that I absolutely hate'. I should just be laying down."

And despite his weight-loss drive, James joked that he doesn't trust personal trainers.

He quipped: "I don't trust them. I don't think they want me to lose weight quickly."

James also explained that he's been reluctant to buy new clothes amid his efforts to lose weight.

He said: "I've not bought masses of clothes because I'm hopeful that there's still a way to go.

"For some time now, I've had three separate wardrobes … 'You're an Embarrassment', 'You've Gotta Do Better', and 'Yeah Baby, You're Really Doing This'.

"That [embarrassment section] has not been used in a while, so I'm quite enjoying dipping into some of those clothes."
