Gisele Bu¨ndchen turned to yoga to get through "one of the most difficult times in her life"

The model admits she used the self-care practice to help her cope through the hard times and says that she "came out of that period stronger and happier" as a direct result of her choices

Taking to Instagram, she shared: "Many years ago, after going through one of the most difficult times in my life, I immersed myself in the very deep process of getting to know myself better.

"With the help of yoga and meditation, I came out of that period stronger and happier, and knowing that no matter how difficult challenges appear in the moment, they always bring with them an opportunity for transformation. #Gratitude #internationalyogaday (sic)"

Meanwhile, Gisele previously insisted she feels better at 40 than she did at 30.

She shared: "I feel better at 40 than I felt at 30, I can tell you that much."

And the blonde beauty feels more confident and sure of herself than ever before.

She explained: "I think the 40s are going to be awesome. The 20s were a little challenging, I’m not going to lie. The 30s, I was getting a grip on stuff. Now the 40s, I’m like, 'Let’s go!'"

And the 40-year-old model also recommended "breathing and meditation tools" to help combat anxiety and panic attacks, admitting that she needed a "supportive push" to emerge from a "cycle of worry".

She said: "From my own experience I learned that nothing is permanent.

Sometimes a gentle reminder that the bad feelings will eventually go away can work like a beacon of hope. Anxiety can feel all-consuming, and sometimes we need a supportive push to help break us out of our vicious cycle of worry.

"My own panic attacks were difficult for me, and I sought help. In moments like these, family, friends and specialists can help, and so can breathing and meditation tools. The most important thing is to move away from inertia and look for alternatives. Life is our greatest gift - and every day is worth it."
