Gull general manager Dave Bodger says there's been an increase in the price of refined fuel out of Singapore - which has added about six cents a litre at the pump since the beginning of the month.
He says sometimes the dollar works to offset the increase of the price of the barrel, but the dollar has devalued, which means another two cents at the pump.
Bodger says the cost of carbon has gone up six dollars a tonne under the Emissions Trading Scheme, which is a 16 per cent increase, and worth another two cents a litre for motorists.
