The International Cricket Council has made changes to its points system for the second edition of the World Test Championship
15 July 2021
Each match will now be contested for the same points - 12 for a win, four for a draw and six for a tie.
The previous system saw the same number of points allocated to each series, divided across the number of matches played.
That means the cancellation of any match or series will not directly impact the points table.
Nine teams will play six series each - three home and three away, with March 31, 2023 the cut-off.
New Zealand meet South Africa, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at home and England, Pakistan and India away.
