New Zealand and Australia have both pulled out of the competition citing health and safety concerns.

Any thought of the trans-Tasman friends playing matches against each other on this side of the world could also be off the cards too.

International Rugby League Boss Troy Grant is claiming World Cup officials may seek an injunction to prevent games should they be planned.
