Mahe Drysdale's excited to see his fellow Kiwis embark on their Olympic campaigns, and he can't help but feel a little bit envious

Mahe Drysdale's excited to see his fellow Kiwis embark on their Olympic campaigns, and he can't help but feel a little bit envious

The two-time gold medallist is one of New Zealand's most storied Olympians, snagging top honours in the men's single sculls in 2012 and 2016.

Tokyo will end Drysdale's run of Olympic campaigns - his first came at the 2004 Athens event.

He says not competing brings about a weird feeling.

The first rowers off today are the women's pair of Kerri Gowler and Grace Prendergast at 12.40pm.
