Lewis Clareburt is competing in the 400 metre individual men's medley at 1.30pm at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
There will be live commentary on Newstalk ZB, courtesy of SkySport.
Olympics commentator Mark Watson says Clareburt has a good temperament for the big races.
He says no one expected him to win a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, or a medal at the 2019 World Championships but he did.
Also in the pool, Erika Fairweather will be competing in the 400 metres women's freestyle just before 11.30pm.
And on the water, Kiwis will be in five rowing races this afternoon, and Luuka Jones will be racing in the K-1 canoe slalom this evening.
