The judge has told them he will allow a majority verdict, from 11 jurors.
They couldn't agree on that either, and the judge has ordered them to to go back and keep trying to reach a verdict.
The 25-year-old has admitted shooting Constable Matthew Hunt dead in June last year -- but denies attempting to murder Goldfinch.
The jury has the option of instead finding him guilty of a lesser charge - wounding with reckless disregard.
Natalie Bracken is also on trial -- charged with being an accessory after the fact to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
