The cost of 91 is about two dollars 38 to 43 cents in Auckland, while Wellington has a 20 cents range up to two dollars 39 and Christchurch starts at two dollars 15.
Aucklanders pay a 10 cents a litre regional fuel tax.
Automobile Association motoring manager Mike Noon says there's about 28-thousand EVs compared with more than four million vehicles.
He says the Government's doing all it can to get people to move away from fossil fuels and they'll be looking at rising prices.
