A desire for the public to know it all when it comes to animal research and testing

A desire for the public to know it all when it comes to animal research and testing

Twenty-one science organisations have signed an agreement pledging to communicate openly about animal use in research and teaching.

Anti-Vivisection Society executive director Tara Jackson says the agreement is a first step - but they want to see real action before they celebrate.

She says they'd like the public to know everything, from where the animals are sourced, to how they're used and what that looks like.

Jackson says the public have a right to know because a lot of it is taxpayer funded.
