MetService says the worst of the countrywide cold and stormy front has passed

MetService says the worst of the countrywide cold and stormy front has passed

A few showers and some low snow are lingering for Christchurch and parts of North Canterbury and Marlborough, and Wellington is seeing dustings of snow and light showers.

Heavy snow warnings also continue for parts of the Wairarapa - as well as a high wind warning for Hawke's Bay and Gisborne.

But Meteorologist Karl Loots says things are looking up.

But Loots says things are on a generally easing trend going into this evening and tomorrow we will have seen an improvement country wide.
