A number of residents were isolated after a storm passed through earlier last month, damaging access roads.
This week the Marlborough Roads' Recovery Team was established to focus on getting all of the damaged roads back to a safe condition.
Manager Marianne Aitken says the massive scale of this event, with more than 100 significant slips in the sounds area alone, means the work needed will take at least two more weeks.
There's limited access to Queen Charlotte Drive, Awatere Valley and Waihopai Valley.
