Another case of Covid-19 in Auckland -- as Cabinet prepares to make a decision on alert level changes around the country

Another case of Covid-19 in Auckland -- as Cabinet prepares to make a decision on alert level changes around the country

The Prime Minister's Office says it's aware of a new case at Waitakere Hospital -- a man who'd been in North Shore Hospital with an unrelated condition earlier in the week.

North Shore Hospital patients are being diverted elsewhere, and staff and patients will be tested.

New Zealand now has 22 community cases -- including at least 20 in Auckland's Delta cluster.

Ministers will meet at 1pm to decide on alert levels for Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula, and for the rest of the country, based on the latest case numbers.

Jacinda Ardern will announce the outcome of that meeting at 3pm.
