There's a large police presence at a west Auckland home after an armed robbery at a petrol station

There's a large police presence at a west Auckland home after an armed robbery at a petrol station

The Armed Offenders Squad and police negotiators are at a Massey house.

Inspector Shawn Rutene says police have set up a cordon on Cedar Heights Avenue, after reports the suspect may have a gun.

He says the person allegedly stole two handbags at a Mobil petrol station in Royal Road just before 8 this morning, and was tracked to the nearby address.

The Police Eagle helicopter is circling overhead.

A witness says an ambulance, a Fire and Emergency truck, and about 24 police officers, including 16 AOS members are there.
