Officers have charged 107 people, warned 293 others and issued more than two-thousand infringement notices since Alert Level Four began.
Auckland checkpoints reported little traffic - although some motorists were turned around for leaving their neighbourhood to shop or exercise.
Creative reasons for non-essential travel this week included needing to fix a shower, buying a puppy and delivering fish to a friend.
In Wellington, roving Police patrols yesterday turned around numerous motorists driving to Pauatahanui inlet to see a pod of visiting orca.
