An investigation has been launched after a remote-controlled shunt train and railway wagon fell into Picton harbour

An investigation has been launched after a remote-controlled shunt train and railway wagon fell into Picton harbour

KiwiRail chief operating officer Todd Moyle says for some reason, the locomotive pushed the wagon across the yard to a ramp that connects the land to a ship - and fell in to the water.

    The ramp has been damaged.

They are now working with other agencies to recover the wagon and locomotive.
