The New Zealand economy had a lot of momentum heading into lockdown

The New Zealand economy had a lot of momentum heading into lockdown

That's what the latest GDP figures are expected to tell us - due out within the next hour .

Estimates of growth range from 1.1 per cent to 1.6 per cent, for the three months to June 30.

Independent Economist Cameron Bagrie says if you head into a lockdown in a position of economic weakness, it's going to knock you around a lot more.

But he says thankfully, both the March and June quarter GDP results are going to be pretty impressive.
