The economy seems to be doing better than it was before Covid-19 hit

Just-released figures show gross domestic product rose 2.8 percent in the June quarter, confounding most economists' predictions.
It follows a 1.4 percent increase in the March quarter.
Stats NZ says the June result was 4.3 percent higher than the December 2019 quarter, just before New Zealand's first Covid-19 cases and the new restrictions.
