    There's a homicide investigation underway after a woman died in the Bay of Plenty town of Kawerau


    Emergency services were called to an address on Hall Street in Kawerau at 12.41 this afternoon.

    Police found a woman with critical injuries, and she died a short time later.

    One person is assisting police with their inquiries and nobody else is being sought.

    A scene guard will remain in place at the property while police investigate.
