Manawatu has secured a 38-27 victory over Southland in rugby's NPC in Invercargill

The hosts got off to a strong start, scoring three tries in the first half - giving them a 20-13 lead at the break.

But the Turbos made a second half comeback, with winger Ed Fidow bagging two tries and lock Liam Mitchell scoring in the corner with five minutes to play.

First five Brett Cameron was clutch for the Turbos - scoring a try and slotting four penalties and three conversions.

Cameron told Sky Sport his side started slowly, but he's pleased with their second half comeback.

Manawatu sit second on the championship standings behind Taranaki.
