Most teachers are expected to be on board with mandatory vaccinations

Most teachers are expected to be on board with mandatory vaccinations

School staff who have contact with pupils will have to be fully vaccinated by January 1 and schools will have to keep track of which students are vaccinated.

Rotorua Intermediate principal Garry de Thierry says 95 percent of teachers and others who work in education are really keen on the idea.

However, he says there's been a lot of discussion about it and some staff have questioned getting vaccinated from a health perspective.
