Eight people have died on New Zealand roads this weekend

Two people died on Friday, three people on Saturday, one on Sunday and one yesterday.

National Road Policing Centre director Superintendent Steve Greally says it's devastating for their loved ones.

He says those people would've been looking forward to a future - but unfortunately because of a mistake someone has made, that's not the case.
