27-year-old Jade Mark Harris appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court today?after previously pleading guilty to careless driving?failing to stop and assess injury and driving while forbidden.
The January hit and run left 37-year-old Anna Chesterfield fighting for her life in hospital.
She was thrown 15 meters down the street.
Harris has been sentenced to eight months home detention and ordered to pay the victim two thousand dollars.
Chesterfield says the incident was heartbreaking for her family?but she forgives Harris for what he did.
