    A 25-year-old's been arrested after sparking an Armed Offenders Squad callout in Wellington


    Just after 2.30AM police received reports of a person firing gunshots into the air at a home on Tremewan Street in Tawa.

    No one was injured and no property was damaged, and police say the AOS was deployed as a precaution.

    A firearm and ammunition were located, and the man was arrested without incident.

    He's expected at the Porirua District Court tomorrow, charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition.
