Unemployment figures are expected to drop below four percent today

Unemployment figures are expected to drop below four percent today

The latest figures will be released at 10.45am.

ANZ economist Finn Robinson says they're forecasting a drop to three point eight percent - the lowest since 2008.

He says they expect it will reflect genuine resilience in the economy.

But Robinson says it's a bittersweet because in the fourth quarter the pain from lockdown will start coming through - so they're expecting things to get a bit worse.
