The hosts dominated the first half, forcing the All Blacks to make 158 tackles and only had 37 of their own but trailed 10-5 at the break.
The pressure told in the second half, with two quick tries to Ireland seizing the game and allowing them to play in front for the final half hour.
The All Blacks were denied a late try for a forward pass, but Joey Carbery's boot kept Ireland at arm's length and clinched the win.
