An Auckland woman's been prosecuted for neglecting two horses

After SPCA inspectors found the pair with clearly visible bones - a vet judged the severity of emaciation meant they'd suffered a long time.
One had to be put down.
Kiri Matenga has been sentenced at the Manukau District Court to 12 months community detention and ordered to pay six-thousand-868-dollars reparations.
She's disqualified from owning horses for six years
The SPCA says it's her second prosecution for animal welfare offences.
