    A six-year-old boy is in an induced coma after being attacked by three pig dogs in Southland


    The boy's grandfather told the Otago Daily Times it happened at a rural Manapouri property on Friday night.

    He's sustained multiple serious injuries to his face, throat, head, arms and torso - he's also been put into an induced coma after several surgeries.

    The dogs were destroyed on Friday night.
