Six-year-old Alicia O'Reilly was found dead in her bed in Auckland's Avondale in August, 1980 -- her eight-year-old sister sleeping just metres away.
After just over four decades, Police have found her killer's DNA in an unmarked envelope in Police archives.
The swabs were taken at the time of Alicia's death -- but were thought to be lost.
It's already been used to rule out the original prime suspect.
