Aucklanders now have even more beaches to swim at this summer

Aucklanders now have even more beaches to swim at this summer

Long term safety warnings at a number of swimming spots across Tamaki Makaurau have been lifted, following extensive recovery work.

Mayor Phil Goff says he's delighted the warnings at Titirangi, Wairau Outlet and Piha North Lagoon have been removed.

He says it's fantastic to the see the work being done to improve water quality, reduce contamination and make beaches more swimmable.

As well, nine new beaches have been added to the Safeswim website to display real-time water quality status.
