Breakers coach Dan Shamir is urging fans not to read too much into a heavy opening defeat to start the Australian basketball league

Breakers coach Dan Shamir is urging fans not to read too much into a heavy opening defeat to start the Australian basketball league

The Breakers were never really at the races in a 89-65 loss to the South East Melbourne Phoenix in their season-opener.

Shamir was unable to be at the game venue after battling Covid, one of nine members of the team's party in Aussie to contract the virus.

He says there were a few mitigating factors to take into account.

The Breakers are back in action on Friday against the Phoenix again.
