Freight forwarders are concerned about having to rely on the spot price market

Freight forwarders are concerned about having to rely on the spot price market

New Zealand freight forwarders will have to rely on the spot price market next year as the sector understands shipping container company Maersk will drop contracts for smaller container movements.

The Freight Forwarders Federation's Chris Edwards says the spot market that changes week by week isn't sustainable for members and their clients.

He says negotiated contracts that are worked to are better for the client and the company.
