An outpouring of grief from the Palmerston North community over four drownings in the Manawatu River

An outpouring of grief from the Palmerston North community over four drownings in the Manawatu River

The bodies of two men reported missing swimming in the river yesterday afternoon at Awapuni, were found last night.

And a body believed to be of a woman also missing from the Awapuni area of the river last Wednesday, has also been found.

The body of her 11-year-old daughter was recovered on Friday.

Palmerston North Mayor Grant Smith says both families are migrants, and to have two families affected is tragic.
