The Otago Daily Times has reported an unnamed facility has resulted in 20 of 26 residents testing positive to Covid.
The outbreak is being managed within the facility and none of the residents have reportedly required hospital care.
The Southern DHB's older people portfolio manager Sharon Adler says most residents' symptoms aren't severe - and all have been double-jabbed and boosted.
She says facility management has been communicated directly with families and staff.
