Car park chaos in South Dunedin on Sunday - with an alleged attempted ATM smash and grab

Police were called to the Pak n Save carpark in the early hours - after a man allegedly stole some Milo, then smashed an ATM outside The Warehouse.

Staff claim a forklift was then hijacked, and used to move a parked car.

They say the man became aggressive and they locked the doors to keep themselves safe.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man, who has appeared in court today.
