The Italians have been stunned by an injury time North Macedonian winner in Palermo with the minnows 1-nil win setting up an all or nothing playoff final in Portugal on Wednesday.
Sweden - 1-nil winners after extra time over the Czech Republic - will travel to face Poland on Wednesday.
Wales have beaten Austria 2-1 but must wait to June to determine their fate as they await the winner of Ukraine's postponed match against Scotland to find their opponent.
